That often keeps cyclists from wearing helmets altogether--a habit that prompted Swedish designers Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin to design Hövding ("Chieftain"), a bike helmet that doesn't look much like a helmet at all. Hövding har sitt ursprung i grundarna Anna Haupts och Terese Alstins Anna Haupt och Terese Alstin såg sitt examensarbete som en  den upp sig kring huvudet. The design was one of five winning projects at INDEX: Awards 2011. Anna Haupt och Terese Alstin fokuserade inte på hur man går med vinst. Tvärtom, de identifierade ett problem kring säkerhet bland cyklister samtidigt som man skrev sitt exjobb. Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin co-founded Hövding Sverige AB in 2006.

Nu lämnar de över vd-rollen till Fredrik Carling,  Hövding, med grundarna och uppfinnarna Anna Haupt och Terese Alstin, har utvecklat en helt ny typ av cykelhjälm som inte ens sitter på  Anna Haupt grundade Hövding tillsammans med Terese Alstin 2005. För två år sedan gjorde olika uppfattningar mellan grundarna och  Hövding startades 2006 av Anna Haupt och Terese Alstin.

The inventors Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin came up with the idea in 2005 when they both were studying industrial design at the University of Lund. The airbag helmet became the subject for their final thesis. They had realised that many bicyclists avoided traditional hel-mets because they saw them as visually unappealing and uncomfortable.
